Articling Program
Learning to become a lawyer requires practical experience as well as solid leadership and guidance. During the articling year at SKM Law Firm, our students have the opportunity to have carriage of his or her own files from the initial meeting with clients to the conclusion and resolution of the matter.
Our students will develop and hone litigation skills through the drafting of pleadings, attendance at court for motions and trials, and tribunal hearings. During the course of articles, students meet regularly with a mentor or articling principal to discuss progress, expectations, challenges, and questions that may arise. There is no formal rotation for articling students at SKM Law Firm. We endeavour to provide as much exposure possible to the various areas of law that we practice and in the areas of law that are of greater interest to each student.
Aside from specific casework, students also enjoy participating in the firm’s many social and professional development activities. From office parties, monthly 376 socials, and summer events to community and team building activities such as Corporate Challenge and Court House Rocks, SKM Law Firm fosters well-rounded professional and personal development.
Our clients come from across Canada and the United States providing our students with exposure to the practice as it relates to other jurisdictions. Our offices are located in London, Lambeth and Chatham; and we have a formal affiliation with a Quebec law firm.
Each year SKM Law Firm hires one student. We offer a fulfilling experience with a competitive salary and benefits package. The deadline for application and the interviews are conducted based on the guidelines provided by the Middlesex Law Association. Please forward applications by mail, fax or email to the attention of:
