We are In the Community
At SMG LLP we are dedicated to our community.
From hosting charity events, sponsoring local organizations and networking, we strive to be in the community connecting with you on a regular basis.
911 Clash for a Cause
We are pleased to have participated in the “911 Clash for a Cause”, a fundraiser created to aid in the purchasing of new life saving monitors for the new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Children’s Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre which serves the most vulnerable newborns from all over the region. These life saving monitors help care for critically ill and pre-term newborns, while some babies are born full term; some are as young as 24 weeks and as small as 500 grams.
Starting November 4th at Noon, a team of SMG’ers along with some friends and colleagues from throughout the community, pedaled for 24 hours straight to help raise funds for this extremely worthwhile cause. Overall, the fundraiser generated in excess of $28,000!

The Ovarian Cancer Canada “Walk of Hope”
This year marked the first time we had the privilege of sponsoring this great event, for a terrific cause. Our commitment to the Walk is for the next three years, and we look forward to helping this great organization moving forward.
On September 11th, 2011, we were proud to be an Event Sponsor for London’s Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope, which raised over $9,000! Walk of Hope events took place across the country providing participants with the opportunity to join together with thousands of others to overcome ovarian cancer. For more information on this worthwhile cause, visit the Ovarian Cancer Canada website.
The Sunshine Foundation Charity Golf Classic
Each year SMG hosts The Sunshine Foundation Charity Golf Classic. This year’s event was held on Thursday, August 18th 2011 at the Firerock Golf Club. Thanks to the help of our sponsors and all of the participants, we were able to raise over $20,000 for our great charity.
All proceeds from this event will support The Sunshine Foundation of Canada, a national charitable organization that makes dreams come true for children with severe physical disabilities or life-threatening illnesses.
Plans for next year’s tournament are already in the works, with details to follow!
